Zurich, one of the worlds largest property-casualty insurance companies, today named Kevin McCracken as executive vice president-casualty, and Joseph Tocco as executive vice president-property for the insurers Global Corporate in North America unit, effective January 1, 2008. Both will now report to Paul Horgan, the units newly appointed chief underwriting officer.
In announcing the appointments, Global Corporate in North America CEO Mario P. Vitale said, As we look ahead to a new year of profitable growth opportunities, I am pleased to announce these important appointments, which will further enhance an already strong management team and successfully position Zurich to take full advantage of the opportunities that we develop.
McCracken will be responsible for driving the units profitable growth in casualty coverage, including all large casualty accounts, excess workers comp and international casualty business written in North America. He joined Zurich earlier this year as senior vice president-casualty, Northeast Region, and leader of the companys excess workers compensation business nationally. Prior to joining Zurich, McCracken was senior vice president of ACE USAs Mid-Atlantic region. He holds a B.S. in business administration and an MBA in finance from La Salle University, Philadelphia, Pa.
Tocco will be responsible for building profitable growth in property lines, including highly protected risks, global property, boiler & machinery, healthcare and national accounts property segments. Tocco joined Zurich from Munich Re in 1996 as vice president and national director of engineered lines, and was appointed senior vice president-Northeast Region property manager in 2001. He is a 1982 graduate of the U.S. Naval Nuclear School, Orlando, Fla., and was a member of the board of directors of the New York Board of Fire Underwriters.
