The race car is one of only five C-11’s in the world built by Mercedes-Benz and famed Swiss racing auto designer Peter Sauber. The car’s performance during the 1990 and 1991 racing seasons qualifies it as the most successful in its racing class. Driven by notable drivers in historic racing venues throughout Europe and the United States, the C-11 captured eight victories and the overall Sports Car World Championship title in the early 1990s. Interested bidders must submit a qualified competing bid of at least US $2.125 million before 5:00 pm EST on January 24, 2008 with a refundable, US $200,000 deposit.
