Wizzard Media (AMEX:WZE), the world’s largest podcasting network, announced today that the U.S. Navy has launched a second podcast advertising campaign, following the success of the initial campaign that was launched in November of 2007 and completed in January, 2008. Both deals were negotiated by Campbell-Ewald, Detroit.
The new campaign, which launched January 25, is a recruitment effort targeting medical professionals or those wanting to enter the medical field. The campaign is running through September on seven highly targeted audio podcasts: Brain Science, Med 2.0, Surgery ICU Rounds, Discover Magazine’s Vital Signs Podcast, CancerCast, MedPod 101 and The Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery’s JBJS Podcast.
The total downloads for the new campaign will exceed one million, with ads appearing in 74,500 total episodes per month. Results will be certified by Wizzard using Nielsen//NetRatings to verify download requests for the U.S. Navy and participating podcasters.
The Navy’s first-ever podcast campaign was a general recruitment effort that encompassed 20 different shows in the Wizzard Media Network covering the categories of music, gaming and sports & recreation.
