Step aboard for a smooth ride that is big on fun and relaxation. Travellers have their choice of two cars at one low price. The Family Car offers cozy fun for everyone, with crayons and colouring books for the kids, newspapers, board games and even Scrabble and cribbage tournaments and prizes for the whole gang.
The Social Car offers a full bar menu and ice-breaker activities to kick off the weekend.
The Snow Train comfort-class experience starts with free weekend parking at the Edmonton Via Rail station, hot and cold beverages, snacks and light meals available on board, and the services of a helpful service manager who can help weekend adventurers choose from a variety of Jasper's mountain community attractions. If skiing and snowboarding is the plan, there's also a 'Marmot Ambassador' on board to sell lift tickets and arrange for rental equipment and lessons.
All of this is to be savoured from fully reclining seats in plush panorama cars featuring breathtaking wraparound windows, perfect for taking in those sparkling Rocky Mountain winter views.
Once you arrive on the platform at Jasper, transportation is a breeze thanks to a complimentary shuttle service between the station and the hotels. Tickets, $12 each per day, are also available for transport from hotels to the Marmot Basin ski area. Just pick them up on board the Snow Train from the Marmot Ambassador and at hotel desks in the townsite.
As if the Snow Train to Jasper weren't already a great deal, the one-way fare is $109 (excluding taxes) for adults, reduced from $123, with discounts for seniors, students, youths and children. So get on board for a first-class journey to winter weekend fun, all the way.
