Weddingbands123, the emerging online retailer of high quality diamonds wedding bands, today announced the launch of an advanced version of its Interactive Search tool, tripling the number of criteria by which consumers can locate their perfect wedding band. The new version enables consumers to dynamically search thousands of wedding bands according to different criteria in real time.
The new Interactive Search enables consumers to find their perfect wedding band from a selection of more than 900 designs. In addition to searching by the cut, color, clarity and carat weight, consumers can now search by polish, fluorescence, and culet, diamond grading report, depth percentage, table percentage and price.
"Today our new Interactive Search takes that experience to the next level by giving consumers information and choice not available at any other online retailer," said Weddingbands123 CEO Ron Armani.
The enhanced version of Interactive Diamond Search also gives consumers the option of customizing the search according to their preferences. Search criteria can be added or eliminated conforming to consumers' priorities. For example, a consumer who is not concerned with a diamond's fluorescence can simply remove that characteristic from his search parameters.
"One of the most important elements of our extensive education materials is helping consumers understand what characteristics are most important to them," said Steven James, expert for Weddingbands123. "With our new interactive search, consumers can choose the criteria by which they want to search, sort and select."
Weddingbands123's new search seamlessly integrates Weddingbands123's industry-leading education tools. By embedding education within the search, consumers can simultaneously learn about the various characteristics and the importance of each, as they review first hand how those characteristics impact price.
Wedding Band Search Characteristics
Polish describes how smoothly the facets of a diamond have been polished, whether any marks are visible from the polishing wheel, and how defined the edges of each facet are.
Symmetry describes how well a diamond's facets align with one another. In general, differences in symmetry result in loss of light from the diamond.
Depth percentage of a diamond is the ratio of the depth of the diamond to its diameter. Table percentage is the width of the table divided by the diameter of the diamond.
Culet refers to the facet at the tip of the pavilion (in other words the bottom of the diamond). The preferred culet, graded None, Pointed or Small is not visible to the unaided eye.
Diamond grading report refers to the independent grading laboratories that evaluate all diamonds sold by Weddingbands123. Weddingbands123 diamonds are graded by one of the two most respected grading labs; either the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) or the American Gem Society Laboratories (AGSL). All diamonds also undergo two reviews by Weddingbands123 gemologists before being sent to the consumer.
Fluorescence, which is graded from none to Very Strong, measures how a diamond reacts to UV light. Generally, fluorescence will have little visible impact on the appearance of a diamond, but a diamond with a grade of Very Strong can give the diamond a slight hazy or oily appearance.
Cut, generally considered the most important characteristic, determines a diamond's brilliance. A collection of measurements and observations between a diamond's light performance, dimensions and finish combine to determine the diamond's cut.
Color refers to the amount or absence of color in a diamond. The less color a diamond has, the higher its color grade. Diamonds described as colorless are the rarest.
Clarity describes the presence of internal or external flaws in a diamond. Diamonds that receive a grade of Flawless, that is having no flaws, are the most rare and beautiful.
Carat Weight refers to the weight of the diamond. Generally speaking, as a diamond's weight increases, so does its size.
