Inviro Medical Devices (www.inviromedical.com) announces a new agreement with WNC Health Network (“WNCHN”), making available the infection control company’s extensive portfolio of InviroSNAP!® Safety Syringe products to the network’s more than 53 acute care hospitals across North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia, as well as Western North Carolina County health departments and Mountain AHEC
WNCHN is a group affiliate of Premier Purchasing Partners, the largest Group Purchasing Organization in the U.S., and 52 of its members are Premier owners or affiliates. Through volume aggregation of its membership, WNCHN enables its hospitals to secure best pricing scenarios for a variety of services and products in many areas of healthcare procurement including but not limited to, medical surgical products, lab, pharmacy, food and service agreements. Inviro Medical Devices was awarded a three-year contract in October 2007 with Premier Purchasing Partners, thus opening the door to the agreement with WNCHN.
“This contract places our manually retractable safety syringes in the hands of respected and strategically located healthcare organizations throughout the Carolinas and Virginia,” says Jim Charlesworth, senior vice president of strategic accounts for Inviro Medical Devices. “Our ongoing success with group purchasing organizations is a tribute to the development of a truly unique product that meets crucial market needs.”
All of the infection control company’s safety and standard syringe products are available to the WNC Health Network members including the InviroSNAP!® with InviroSTRIPE®, featuring a patented, integral write-on stripe that allows critical information to be recorded directly onto the syringe barrel. The label helps institutions address The Joint Commission recommendations regarding medication labeling to reduce medication errors.
“Combined with properties inherent to the InviroSNAP! Safety Syringe that help prevent needlestick injuries, WNC Health Network members now have access to the first and only line of syringes that protect both healthcare workers and patients,” comments Charlesworth.
Introduced in 2006, InviroSNAP! Safety Syringes feature a distinctive manually retractable design unlike any other product on the market. With hand and fingers safely positioned behind the needle, the clinician administers the dose, pulls the plunger back -- causing the needle to retract inside the barrel -- and snaps off the plunger, permanently disabling the device. The InviroSTRIPE feature was added to the product line during 2007.
