W.A.C. Lighting Hosts Grand Opening Of Global Manufacturing Facilities and Campus In China
Publish Date : 12/14/2007 4:16:00 AM Source : Asia Pacific News Onlypunjab.com
After three years of planning, W.A.C. Lighting recently hosted the Grand Opening of its state-of-the-art, Global Manufacturing Facilities and Campus in QingXi, DongGuan, China. The opening of this company-owned facility marks the firm’s major expansion from a smaller factory and celebrates 10 years of manufacturing its product line abroad. W.A.C. Lighting, a leading designer and manufacturer of track, recessed, undercabinet, decorative and monorail lighting, hosted a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony and Celebration attended by local dignitaries.
CEO/Founder Tony Wang proclaimed, “People are the essence of our company. Each individual needs to recognize this culture, respecting, caring and cooperating with each other. My lifetime goal is to provide an opportunity for everyone associated with W.A.C. Lighting to be successful as we strive to be a leader in the industry. Aiming high as a global leader is not necessarily defined as a company generating the highest revenue, but instead, a firm that prides itself on developing the most innovative designs and advanced technology. Our mission is also to design and produce energy saving products. We have made a tremendous investment to protect our environment, and it is our responsibility to pass on a clean world to the next generations.”
The new facility encompasses over 750,000 square feet and will employ 2500 person at full capacity. It includes several buildings for manufacturing and distribution, as well as a modern office building for administration, research and development, testing and more. Craftspeople create precision components utilizing a broad range of processes to produce and assemble the W.A.C. Lighting and W2 Architectural Lighting lines: tooling and molds to manufacture die-cast aluminum fixtures, extruded metal and plastic components; CNC lathe and metal punching, moldmaking; metal-spinning; metal press-cutting; bending; punching; lead-free powdercoating; and SMT electronic production.
A Lighting Application, Showroom/Training Center, covering over 20,000 feet, will display the complete product line. A Product Testing Center offers a full range of tests to meet UL-certified quality standards for endurance, durability, reliability, temperature, electrical componentry, lamp and luminaire performance, and mechanical safety. Labs are being built to test applications and photometrics. |
