Farmers Group, Inc.’s University of Farmers, founded by Farmers Insurance Group of Companies, has received four top learning and development awards from the Corporate University Xchange (CUX), the leading provider of education research, benchmarking and advisory services to corporate America.
Farmers was named as a winner at the 9th Annual Corporate University Xchange Awards for Excellence and Innovation in Corporate Learning at a gala dinner February 5, 2008 at the Georgia World Congress Center, Atlanta, Georgia. The company picked up Excellence Awards for Leadership Development, Learning Technologies and Measurement, and a Best Practices Award for Marketing.
The CUX awards program salutes corporate and government learning organizations that create exciting, impactful programs that result in measurable improvements in employee and business performance.
“Each of these winning programs has a measurable impact on a company’s ability to execute its business strategy,” said Sue Todd, president and CEO of CUX. “We congratulate them.”
“We are very pleased to accept the awards from CUX,” Farmers CEO Paul Hopkins said. “It is an honor to be recognized by such a prestigious organization.”
The University was honored in the following categories:
Leadership Development: Implementing high-impact programs targeted to managers, high potentials, and senior executive leadership. Farmers received an “Excellence” award (first place) for our efforts in leadership development.
Marketing: Developing and implementing innovative communications and branding strategies to promote the corporate university. Farmers received a “Best Practices” award (second place) for our marketing efforts.
Learning Technologies: Creating an effective learning environment through the use of technology. Farmers received an “Excellence” award (first place) for our learning technologies efforts.
Measurement: Creating tools and techniques to measure the value of an organization’s investment in learning. Farmers was recognized with an “Excellence” award (first place) for our approach to tracking and measuring learning results.
The University of Farmers, claims, leadership and management training facility located in Agoura Hills, California, was officially dedicated November 3, 2006. The University offers training to 15,000 Farmers agents; 500 district managers; and 10,000 claims staff from across the country.
“While the University of Farmers team is excited to be recognized as best in class by our peers, our ultimate success lies in the University’s support of our district managers, agents, and our employees,” said Annette Thompson, Vice President of Marketing Operations.
“Our mission is to train agents, agency staff, field leadership and claims professionals to drive behavioral change and business results,” explained Mike Cuffe, Assistant Vice President, Claims. “To accomplish our mission, every learning program is created with distinct, measurable business objectives in mind. Tracking and measurement mechanisms are installed before new training launches. Monthly scorecards communicate training results to all executive management.”
