Publish Date : 2/4/2008 5:40:00 AM   Source : Health News Onlypunjab.com

CytoCore Inc. (OTCBB:CYOE), the biopharmaceutical research and medical device company for early detection and treatment of reproductive-tract cancers, announced today that Chairman of the Board, Daniel Burns and CEO, Robert McCullough Jr. have recently invested $600,000 and $200,000 respectively in the company. McCullough and Burns filed a Form 4 and Burns additionally filed a Form 3, with the SEC, which details the terms of their individual investments. Both Burns and McCullough have helped fund the Company during its recent turn-around and collectively own approximately 10% of CytoCore’s common shares outstanding.

“The proceeds from our investment will be used to assist in the scale up of SoftPAP™ manufacturing capacity to meet expected market demand and growth prospects in 2008 and 2009. To date, we have received approximately $10 million in guaranteed orders for 2008 for the SoftPAP device and have initiated shipments to European distributors. We believe our investment illustrates our commitment to generating shareholder returns for our investors, as well as our confidence in the strategy we are implementing to generate those returns,” said Mr. Burns.
