Alchemy Creative (ALMY) Announces: The Meadows Foundation Partners With Adventures of The Elements Product(ALMY’s leading product line) In Improving Texas Science Education
Publish Date : 1/2/2008 7:03:00 AM   Source : Science and Technology News Onlypunjab.com

Alchemy Creative, Inc. (Pink Sheets: ALMY), a nationally recognized corporation focusing on childrens education through multimedia and inventive educational products, announced today that The Meadows Foundation, a nationally recognized educational foundation which has granted over $550 million since its inception, has partnered with Adventures of The Elements (AOE) product (a wholly owned product of ALMY) in improving Texas Science education. Furthermore, The Meadows Foundation has funded the distribution of AOE product to many Texas schools and organizations.

The Meadows Foundation exists to assist people and institutions of Texas to improve the quality and circumstances of life for themselves and future generations. As previously stated, since its inception, the Foundation has disbursed over $550 million in grants and direct charitable expenditures to over 2,000 Texas institutions and agencies.

The Meadows Foundations focus on public education began when they met with former Texas Governor George W. Bush and the architects of what became the No Child Left Behind Act. Alchemy Creatives Adventures of the Elements product line meets the objectives of the No Child Left Behind Act and therefore was a prime candidate for the described grant.

The Texas public education system is both large and complex. There are approximately four million students in over 7,000 public schools. Through the Meadows Foundation grant, Adventures of the Elements science kits were provided to 2,460 science teachers in the state of Texas.

In addition, the Foundation has invested $15.8 million through 107 gifts to support pre-school programs that help children get ready to learn, train elementary school teachers in effective strategies to help students read at grade level, and provide teacher development and retention programs to increase the pool of qualified classroom teachers.

The Meadows Foundation Stated:

The correlation between quality of education and quality of life is undeniable. Early reading, experiential learning, tutoring, and mentoring programs improve life-long study skills and academic achievements. Knowledge empowers choices that influence our social and family environment, health and mental well being, career and income, home and neighborhood, and community and world view.

"The Meadows Foundation recognizes that excellence in education extends to both sides of the desk. To ensure that the children of Texas are prepared to meet and make their futures and to provide our state with the human capital needed to compete in a global economy, our grantmaking is targeted at preparing children to learn, improving curricula, and increasing the number of qualified teachers in our schools.

ABOUT ADVENTURES OF THE ELEMENTS (AOE):

The Adventures of the Elements (AOE) concept is derived from a series of children's novels currently being used in many classrooms and available to families by order through Barnes & Noble as well as the company website. The characters are children and superhero personifications from the Periodic Table of Elements. The children and superhero guardians of the Elements experience Adventures leading them to the Palace of Knowledge. The stories have demonstrated a high popularity quotient with elementary and middle school children. Substantial scientific learning has been shown to result from experiencing the books and the related Trading Card Game.

Richard James III, creator of Adventures of The Elements, has spent the last 10 years developing the AOE product. Richard has become a fixture at numerous curriculum conferences and seminars where he has presented the educational benefits that can be realized while children are relating to the materials as entertainment.
