Freescale and Qosmos are combining the high performance of Freescale’s MPC8572 multi-core processor with powerful Qoala Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) and Information Extraction technology from Qosmos. This platform capability will be able to scale from the dual-core MPC8572 to Freescale’s forthcoming Multi-core Platform.

Mobile operators are looking to DPI solutions to maintain and improve network performance and security, even as demand intensifies for bandwidth-heavy applications such as Web-based video services. DPI technology running on ultra high performance multi-core processors like Freescale’s MPC8572 is developed to help network operators keep up with exploding bandwidth requirements by enabling the inspection and intelligent routing of packets.
