Reflecting the importance of the crane market in the Gulf states, Street Crane Company has made its first ever appointment of a full-time representative to the area. L.Sam Kumar, based in Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates, joins the company as regional sales manager. He will look after business in the UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Iran, Pakistan and Egypt. The appointment comes as Street Crane launch a new family of advanced hoists.
L.Sam is a graduate engineer who also holds an MBA in marketing. He has more than 18 years engineering sales experience, handling complex technical negotiations for the sale of high value capital equipment for process and similar industries. In his most recent position with Street Crane's Kuwait distributor Al Ghanim and Nass Trading Company he was responsible for an order for 32 Street cranes for a major project in Bahrain.
Commenting on his appointment, L.Sam explained, "From my previous association with the company I have complete confidence in the products and support provided by Street Crane Company. Within the Gulf States their partnership approach, using local distributors to produce major structural elements, has commercial and logistical benefits for end user customers. This approach shows a willingness to contribute to the development of the local economy that generates goodwill."
In early 2008, Street Crane will launch a range of hoists in the mainstream five to 25 tonne safe working load category. "This will be the first simultaneous world launch of a product by Street Crane. The development and testing process has been exhaustive to produce products that can meet the extreme conditions of this area and demanding specifications of Gulf producers. I am therefore extremely optimistic that we can further develop our partnership network, to build market share in the region," L.Sam concluded. |
