Stratum Med Inc. (Urbana, Ill.) has signed a new affiliate agreement to strategically partner with Amerinet Inc., a leading national health care group purchasing organization (GPO).
As an affiliate partner, Stratum Med has agreed to utilize exclusively Amerinet’s national portfolio of contracts and Total Spend Management business intelligence solutions to help manage its members’ combined annual spend of $70 million. Stratum Med represents 22 non-acute facilities and more than 1,900 physicians in 16 states.
Since 1998, when Stratum Med first became an Amerinet member, the organization has achieved more than $5 million a year in savings for its members. “Amerinet has consistently met our objectives to lower the costs of our members’ operating expenses,” said Brian A. Medendorp, executive director, group purchasing.
Medendorp continued, Amerinet’s portfolio is relevant to a non-acute setting and provides a comprehensive scope of products and services and choice of multiple vendors for our members to choose from.
The new agreement will enable Stratum Med to aggregate their members’ total spend to achieve better tier pricing that leads to additional savings. The partnership will also focus on total spend management solutions that provide savings opportunities on consumable supplies and purchased services. Additionally, the agreement will result in the implementation of cost reduction initiatives through contract evaluation and utilization.
