Ian Weston, corporate development director of News International Limited in the U.K., will be appointed senior vice president, special projects, for Dow Jones & Company, Dow Jones Chief Executive Officer Les Hinton announced today.
Mr. Hinton said: "I am delighted Ian will be joining the Dow Jones team to help us shape our future. This is a time of exciting change for the company, and Ian brings years of top-level experience in the newspaper industry. He has been key to developing radical change in News Corporation's British newspapers, in particular the company's recent $1.3 billion project to install state-of-the-art printing presses."
Mr. Weston said: "Dow Jones is a phenomenal company with great potential to grow and prosper in the years to come. I am honored to be invited to play a part in making it happen."
Mr. Weston will report to Mr. Hinton.

Mr. Weston, 43, served as director of circulation and sales and head of business development at News International. Before joining News in 1995, he was a consultant with the Boston Consulting Group. Mr. Weston holds an MBA with distinction from INSEAD and a degree in engineering, economics and management from Oxford University. He began his career as a mechanical engineer with British Gas. He and his wife Latha have a daughter and two sons.
