Smith Micro Software, Inc. (NASDAQ:SMSI), a leading developer and marketer of software solutions and services for the wireless market, today announced the availability of its QuickLink® IMS client software suite for Symbian devices that support Symbian S60 and Symbian UIQ. QuickLink IMS client software suite and its extensive support of mobile platforms and operating systems enable cost-effective and rapid delivery of IMS-based applications on mobile devices. The software is compatible with dual mode (Wi-Fi/3G-GSM) phones from Nokia and Sony-Ericsson.
Smith Micro’s QuickLink IMS client suite is available as both full-featured software as well as a suite of modular SDKs. In addition to Symbian platforms, the software is also available for Windows Mobile, Linux, and Brew/Rex.
"This product enhancement rounds out our platform support portfolio and sets the stage for both mobile handset makers and telecom service providers to rapidly and cost-effectively deploy a powerful pre-loaded IMS solution to their customers on any device, independent of the phone’s operating system," said Patrick Lilley, Vice President and General Manager for Device Solutions. “With our SDKs already available for Linux platforms, our next focus is on Android.”
The QuickLink IMS suite provides roaming and active call handover capabilities between circuit and packet networks as well as Voice and Instant Messaging capabilities over wireless broadband networks.
