OneOncology Inc., a company dedicated to uniting the oncology community, today announced that Matthew McBride has been promoted to director of information and technology. McBride was previously a technology manager with the company.
Launched in 2007, OneOncology is an online service that enables community oncologists to receive the drugs they need to treat patients at fair prices. Through its electronic negotiation technology, the company brings together oncology drug purchasers and oncology drug suppliers for open and transparent transactions that deliver the best possible price.
“We are proud that Matt will now head all of our information and technology initiatives,” said Steven Kirchof, president and chief executive officer of OneOncology. “He has truly been an asset to our company over the past year, and has played a key role in our mission to unite the oncology market and improve community cancer care in the United States.”
Since joining OneOncology in March 2007, McBride has laid the technological foundation for the dashboard, order entry, order processing, reporting and exception monitoring systems. In December 2007, during the company’s first event cycle, McBride oversaw the flawless application of the event platform and ensured HIPAA compliance was achieved.
McBride is a technologist with more than 10 years of operational experience in both small and large Web-based technology rollouts. Prior to joining OneOncology, McBride worked with SPAR Group Inc., where he led key projects involving paperless initiatives, mobile computing and Radio Frequency Identification (RFID).
Additionally, McBride led the pilot rollouts of active and passive RFID systems in companies including Circuit City and Staples, and founded and created partnerships in numerous businesses involving e-commerce, real estate, Web development, Internet real estate and information technology infrastructure. McBride has worked on technology solutions throughout the United States, as well as in six other countries on four continents. He received degrees in business management and management information systems from the University of Michigan.
OneOncology recently completed its inaugural event cycle for drug suppliers to bid on orders from hundreds of community oncologists who are registered with the company. OneOncology successfully united more than $1.5 billion in purchasing power from community oncologists across the country and attracted three new highly qualified, VAWD-certified drug suppliers to the oncology market space.
