The Secret to Aging Gracefully (without Surgery): Treat Your Body from the Inside Out
Publish Date : 2/20/2008 6:07:00 AM   Source : Animals and Nature News Onlypunjab.com

Who says you can’t turn back the clock? Or freeze time? With Arizona’s population of baby boomers, snow birds and retirees continuing to grow every year, experts in the anti-aging movement have flocked to the Valley for research and business opportunities. Many local anti-aging experts are promoting natural alternatives in the fight against old-age realities. And the formula is a simple one, according to nationally known health expert, Caroline Sutherland, “proper diet, hormone regulation and low stress levels will keep you looking and feeling your best.”

Sutherland says the three biggest culprits to aging are sugar, hormone decline and stress. As we get older, our carbohydrate (sugar) metabolism decreases, leading to glycation which causes cell breakdown and aging. Too much sugar, not enough sleep and added stress are all contributing to the demoralizing aspects of aging, such as sagging skin, memory decline and loss of energy. However, to combat this, strategies like diet, nutrition, bio-identical hormones and even stem cell therapy can reverse the signs of aging without complicated surgical procedures, in addition to preventing and treating things like cancer, autism, arthritis, multiple sclerosis, heart failure and diabetes.

Next month, Sutherland, who also is the author of “The Body Knows,” and soon to be published, “The Body Knows… How to Stay Young,” will bring together several local, high profile anti-aging experts in stem cell therapy, bio-identical hormones and emotional health in her “Forever Ageless” anti-aging conference to be held in Scottsdale, Ariz. from March 28-30.

“Anti-aging is really a life long commitment to proper health and finding the imbalances in the body and correcting them, whether that be with diet, hormones or other therapies,” said Sutherland. “Vibrant aging is the wave of the future. We know that the body and mind are connected. Why not learn to tap into the body’s wisdom for regeneration and repair?”

In the early 1980’s, while working as an allergy-testing technician and physician’s assistant in a medical clinic, Sutherland began to receive intuitive impressions about her patients, an experience which groomed her to become one of the most sought-after medical intuitives today. Next month, she will discuss the latest anti-aging strategies, show how to “tune in” and unlock the body’s phenomenal capacity to repair. She will also answer questions and do spot readings from the audience.

Keynote speaker and Board certified anti-aging specialist and stem cell therapy proponent, Roger M. Nocera, M.D., will give insight into “stem cells as the future of anti-aging.” Nocera is the current Medical Director and founder of Medistem and The Nocera Clinic, an anti-aging practice in Scottsdale. It is said that over time stem cells become depleted. Thus, we succumb to disease and aging as the regenerative power of the body decreases. Stem cell therapy has the exciting potential to teach your skin and organs to be young again. Without any surgery, your skin can feel younger and tighter, and over time become completely rejuvenated through a natural process.

In addition, Theresa Ramsey, well-known naturopath physician at the Center for Natural Healing in Paradise Valley, will head Sunday’s program discussing “how natural hormone balancing keeps you young.” Natural bio-identical hormones are exactly the same as those produced naturally by our bodies, without chemical alterations -- the same hormones that Suzanne Somers has been actively promoting and taking for years. The great appeal of bio-identical hormones is that they are natural, and the human body can metabolize them as it was designed to do, minimizing side effects. Moreover, bio-identical hormones can be tailored to match each individual's needs — something not possible with mass-produced products.

“Anti-aging medicine is about living better - healthier, happier and with greater vigor and mental focus - during the second half of our lives,” said Nocera. “It has been said that ‘we do not lose hormones because we age,’ but rather, ‘we age because we lose our hormones.’ The new paradigm in modern medicine is to replace the hormones that are lost with life sustaining natural bio-identical hormones that literally create a more youthful level of health, physiology and vitality, and eventually we will be using stem cells to do the same thing.”

Other speakers will include Dr. Hilda Villaverde, beauty expert and bestselling author of “Blow Dry This – Stories From Behind the Chair;” Ariel Wolfe, psychotherapist, inspirational speaker and principal of Mishka Productions and the popular Celebrate Your Life Conferences; and Silver Rose, successful entrepreneur, comedian, and professional speaker dedicated to learning and applying the Law of Attraction.
