Software-as-a-service has quickly moved beyond its early roots in providing easy-to-deploy departmental and niche-focused solutions, and is now poised to address broader enterprise requirements, including "core" (often mission-critical) business processes. At the same time, enterprise users are getting much more sophisticated and savvy, with increased expectations vis-à-vis service levels and accountability, pricing, enterprise integration, SaaS solution functionality, and SaaS provider responsiveness to requested enhancements and changes.
