SDS is pleased to announce a new company name effective January 15, 2008. The new name, HealthPort, reflects the company’s rapid growth in healthcare technology. HealthPort serves over 1,200 hospitals; 27,000 physicians; and has annual revenue of over $165 million.
For the past 30 years, SDS (formerly Smart Document Solutions) has provided technology and services for health information management and medical records in the acute care hospital and ambulatory care markets.
Following their merger with Companion Technologies in June 2007, the combined company now also offers solutions for revenue cycle management, electronic medical records, and practice management for physicians and community health centers. The new name of HealthPort was carefully chosen to support this expansion and is the final step in a series of organizational changes since the June 2007 merger.
“This is an exciting time for our company, our customers, and our employees. We believe HealthPort is uniquely positioned as the total solution provider for both physicians and hospitals,” states Frank Murphy, President and CEO of HealthPort. “Our commitment to the future of healthcare technology remains strong as we continue to build workable solutions for our customers.” says Murphy.
The company offers advanced technology and service solutions including:
- Revenue cycle management system
- Electronic medical records system
- Electronic document management system
- Document conversion and storage
- Practice management system
- Release-of-information technology and services
- Healthcare consulting services
HealthPort’s mission is to partner with healthcare providers to improve patient care, business processes, and financial outcomes by providing quality service, proven technology, and trusted expertise.
