Fifty percent (50%) of the likely Democratic primary voters surveyed said they would vote for Senator Clinton, compared to 48% for Senator Obama; a statistical tie given the poll’s margin of error. Among likely Republican primary voters, Arizona Senator John McCain held a sizable lead over former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee; 55% - 32%. The poll was conducted by Opinion Research Corporation which interviewed by telephone 553 voters who say they are likely to vote in the Texas Republican presidential primary and 529 who say they are likely to vote in the Texas Democratic presidential primary. The margin of sampling error is plus or minus 4.0 percentage points for Republican primary voters and plus or minus 4.5 percentage points for Democratic primary voters.
