Dantel Announces New Product Features on the WebMon Edge and Matrix Remote Monitoring Appliances
Publish Date : 8/1/2007 1:01:00 AM Source : Network Security News Onlypunjab.com
Dantel, Inc. the leader in network surveillance and management systems, today announced new features in the company's innovative remote monitoring appliances, the WebMon Edge and WebMon Matrix.
The latest enhancements to the WebMon Edge and Matrix include the ability to dial-out in the event that an Ethernet network fails. Both products support up to four dial-out targets, each with their own phone number, login name and password.
"The dial-out feature comes on the heels of the addition of an optional Ethernet switch/FX Fiber Converter to the Edge and Matrix," said Ifty Husain, director of product development for Dantel. "This feature supports local and long-haul IP data switching on a single fiber resulting in cost savings of up to 50% in fiber deployments." The available options include all copper ports or a combination of copper and fiber ports for local, short-haul or long-haul IP data transport.
In addition, both products feature combinations of discrete, analog and user-configured derived alarms that are an integral part of the Auto Decision Support System (ADSS). Unlike the traditional telemetry and network surveillance systems, the DSS advance feature does not only detect an incident, but also proactively makes the right decision, on time, for savings in time and costs.
Other added features incorporated in this latest release include user-configured control responses, event notification with email or SNMP traps, scheduling, and the ability to ping (ICMP) up to 32 network elements.
"While our WebMon Edge and Matrix are already considered as leading edge remote monitoring appliances we continue to develop new features based on input from our customers," said Dave Lauger, director of business development for Dantel.
The WebMon Edge and Matrix fulfill a need within a wide range of industries for the remote monitoring of their critical assets. For a complete review of all of the innovative features incorporated in the WebMon Edge and Matrix please visit our web site at www.dantel.com.
