Red Condor Announces New Strategy to Fight Spam-Generating Botnets
Publish Date : 12/18/2007 3:42:00 AM Source : Network Security News Onlypunjab.com
Red Condors president and CEO, Ron Longo, described a new email security technique to battle the growing threat of botnets that spread malicious email spam and viruses. He talked about the issue during an interview on the nationally syndicated radio program, America Back on Track, hosted by Tony Seton.
A primary vehicle for spam today is the proliferation of spam machines, also known as botnets or zombie armies, Longo said. Spammers are building botnets that take over personal computers on an undetected basis, and then use them to spew out malicious email and viruses. Botnets are a major contributor to the $50-billion annual worldwide problem associated with the 60-billion to 150-billion email spam messages sent each day.
Red Condor has developed integrated inbound and outbound email filtering to identify and stop malicious email attacks, including those from computers seized by botnets. Owners of enterprise networks and Internet service providers can now receive capacity-based, simultaneous screening of inbound and outbound email traffic from one Red Condor Message Assurance Gateway (MAG) appliance.
This protection is enhanced by Red Condors Vx Technology, the industrys first premium network security solution that integrates a local network appliance with managed services for email security. This provides load sharing and the resilient deployment of resources to prevent spam attacks and messaging-born threats from overwhelming client networks and crippling productivity.
