The month of December proved to be a record month at Powderhorn Resort, just outside of Grand Junction, CO. Storm after storm dropped a total of 132 inches on the ski resort proving the best December snowfall in 25 years. The previous record was 68 inches 1983. Powderhorn's snowfall records date back to the 1983-84 season.
"It's just been incredible", said Powderhorn's Marketing Director, Sarah Allen. "We received 24 inches the day before we opened, causing an 'all hands on deck' situation to prepare the mountain and base area for public the next day. We all helped shovel snow and setup signage, fencing, etc. Although not expected, we all pulled together and had a great time doing it!"
