The event convened some of the nation’s renowned healthcare thought and practice leaders in patient safety and quality improvement.
The annual two-day conference has become a nexus for those wishing to advance the cause of patient safety and quality improvement and learn from their peers. At the conference users gain valuable insight on key topics in the area of safety and risk management, quality and performance improvement reporting, and accreditation and compliance.
This year’s conference has been “spectacular,” according to Sanjaya Kumar, MD, President and Chief Medial Officer of Quantros, adding that, “The speakers, many of whom are also Quantros clients, have been exceptional and the participants are receiving the benefit of their peers’ experiences. Glenn Mitchell, MD, MPH, Vice President of Clinical Safety at Sisters of Mercy Health System, delivered the keynote presentation, “Outside Influences on Healthcare,” which covered the status and future of quality and safety reporting in the U.S. health system. He was followed by Elizabeth A. Duthie, RN, PhD, Director of Patient Safety at NYU Hospitals Center, who presented “Using Evidence to Create Safer Systems” at the plenary session.
Concurrent breakout sessions featured “Core Measures: Barriers to Performance and Implications of Non-Compliance” by Mark Michelman, MD, MBA, and “The Joint Commission Readiness” by Rick Curtis, RN, MS, CPHQ.
