Publish Date : 2/11/2008 4:23:00 AM   Source : Technology News Onlypunjab.com

PCTEL, Inc. (NASDAQ:PCTI), a leading provider of wireless solutions, today announced the availability of its new TD-SCDMA-GSM/EDGE SeeGull® EX Scanning Receiver. The new EX supports concurrent measurements for the new Chinese 3G standard as well as for GSM/EDGE in the 1800MHz and 900MHz frequency bands. In addition to the superior GSM/EDGE performance and features such as BSIC and BCCH decoding, China can now benefit from PCTEL’s leading edge scanning technology for TD-SCDMA.

"PCTEL’s new TD-SCDMA product anticipates the award of 3G licenses in China," said Luis Rugeles, General Manager of PCTEL’s RF Solutions Group. "The GSM/EDGE capability of the new product responds to the explosive growth of those networks in China. Our industry leading scanning receivers protect a carriers’ investment in 2G technologies while preparing them for growth in the new 3G networks,” added Rugeles.

The SeeGull scanning receiver product line includes solutions covering all major wide-area wireless technologies, including WCDMA/GSM, CDMA/EV-DO, TD-SCDMA, and WiMAX, as well as solutions for indoor coverage planning. The accuracy and reliability of SeeGull measurements make this data ideal for use in RF propagation management, frequency allocation, and other cell planning applications. SeeGull EX scanning receivers are available through the leading global providers of drive test solutions and directly from PCTEL.

PCTEL will showcase the new TD-SCDMA-GSM/EDGE SeeGull EX Receiver along with its other scanning receiver products and its entire portfolio of wireless solutions at the 2008 Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain. The PCTEL booth will be located at 2C71 in Hall 2.
