Using Geezeo's tool, users can now budget their spending based on expense tags like "rent", "food" or "entertainment". Tags are automatically created based the user's spending data and can be highly customized by the user. Once a particular tag is selected for budgeting, a single click of the mouse creates a default budget target. This target is 15 percent less than the user's average monthly expenditure in that category.

While Geezeo believes the 15 percent reduction is a strong starting point, users can easily refine their target numbers, moving them up or down based on changing goals. Like tags, the budget items are highly personalized. Geezeo informs users what percentage of their total budget they have spent and alerts users as they approach their limits during the month.

"Geezeo realizes that different people have very different preferences when it comes to their money. For that reason, we have made every attempt to make Geezeo's budgeting tool as flexible as possible,” said Geezeo co-founder Peter Glyman.

Geezeo users have already started taking advantage of the new budgeting tool. Annette Thomson, age 29, says, "I am so excited that Geezeo now has a budgeting feature. I have been using Geezeo for the last couple months and have identified areas where I definitely need to spend less. With Geezeo's budget tool, I am working to spend 20 percent less on food and entertainment next month. This would be a huge first step towards my biggest financial goal, saving enough money for a home in Washington, D.C."

Along with the new budgeting tools, Geezeo has also launched a sleek new homepage and enhanced its Geezeo Groups discussion boards, where users share financial tips and money saving wisdom.
