The Board of Directors of OKI Printing Solutions HQ (brand name of OKI Data Corporation) has announced the appointment of Mr. Harushige Sugimoto as President and Chief Executive Officer, effective January 1, 2008. He succeeds Mr. Mikihiko Maeno, who is retiring from the position but will remain with the company as an advisor. OKI Printing Solutions is a major player in the highly competitive market for designing, developing, manufacturing and marketing business printing solutions which empower organizations to communicate more effectively.
Mr. Sugimoto has been with OKI Electric Industry Co., Ltd. since 1970. He is currently a Managing Director and CTO of the company, responsible for OKI Electric’s overseas business development, research and development programs.
In a statement regarding his appointment as President and CEO of OKI Printing Solutions HQ, he said: “The printer business continues to make a rapid expansion as the core business of OKI Group’s global business. My goals are to enhance the synergy within the OKI Group, promote further expansion of the printer business, advance OKI Group’s R&D and accelerate the company’s global business growth.”
Mr. Sugimoto will maintain his position of Managing Director and CTO of OKI Electric while being President and CEO of OKI Printing Solutions HQ to strengthen the cooperation with OKI Mechatronics Business and R&D Division, and to accelerate expansion of the information communication business overseas.
Mr. Maeno had been President and CEO of OKI Printing Solutions HQ since April 2004.
The Board of Directors also announced the following appointments to the board:
Yutaka Tsubokawa, Senior Managing Director
Tetsuhei Kawamura, Senior Managing Director and Marketing Division General Manager and Overseas Sales Division
Also retiring from OKI Printing Solutions HQ is Mr. Minoru Mizutani from the position of Senior Managing Director. He will join OKI Information Systems as President and CEO.
