CapRock Appoints New Managing Director
Publish Date : 2/19/2008 6:53:00 AM   Source : Technology News Onlypunjab.com

CapRock Communications, a leading provider of global satellite communication services, has appointed Eduardo Correa as managing director of its European, African and Middle Eastern operations. Based in Aberdeen, Scotland, one of CapRock’s five regional teleport bases, Correa’s responsibility is to oversee all aspects of operations within the region. Ian Ford held the previous responsibilities but was relocated to Perth, Australia, to lead CapRock’s growth within the South East Asia region.

Within the last few years, CapRock has experienced significant global growth by enhancing its teleports and increasing its international support centres to support clients continued expansion efforts. The Aberdeen facilities were expanded in 2007 to accommodate an advanced Network Operations Centre that houses new tools to provide further remote monitoring and support capabilities. This continued development supports CapRock’s commitment to its customers to provide uncompromising communications and world-class service. Correa will leverage his extensive knowledge of the industry to ensure CapRock further develops its capabilities and continues to provide unparalleled customer service.

“Eduardo brings a wealth of experience gained within our industry both in the UK and abroad which makes him a great fit for this position,” said CapRock CEO Peter Shaper. “Many of our customers are increasing their operations and focus in EMEA, and Eduardo is ideal for helping us continue to provide extremely reliable services to the region. Customers rely on CapRock to provide turnkey solutions from start to finish, and I am confident Eduardo will continue to strengthen the company’s service offerings.”

Prior to joining CapRock, Correa held multiple management positions within the oil and gas industry involving engineering, project management and operations management of infrastructure solutions. He has led the deployment and commissioning of major telecommunication solutions and services for operations branches, LNG plants and offshore platforms. Most recently, Correa served as the Angola operations manager for a major oilfield services company, where he was responsible for the Reservoir Software, Information Management and Infrastructure Services departments, serving local and international operators in the region.
