Nero, leaders in digital media technology, announced today that they have named Richard Carriere as senior vice president of its Americas operations. Carriere will be responsible for managing the growth of Nero’s Americas operations, which include the U.S., Canada and Latin America, overseeing sales, marketing, operations, finance and business development teams. Carriere brings more than 20 years of high tech management experience, providing Nero with a holistic view of the digital media landscape and insight into the industry’s trends and future.
“Richard’s leadership and vision will allow him to act as a thought partner at the most senior level of the organization,” said Udo Eberlein, chief operating officer, Nero AG. “He will help guide our Americas operations and drive significant customer relationships and sales that support our aggressive growth.”
Before joining Nero, Carriere was general manager at Corel Corporation, a publicly-traded application software company based in Ottawa, Canada. Previously, Carriere also served as a consultant at McKinsey & Company, where he was a member of the media and telecommunications practices and was a leader of the firm’s broadband initiative. Additionally, Carriere has worked for Ernst & Young in Montreal, Canada.

Carriere earned an MBA from The Amos Tuck School at Dartmouth College. He also studied at the London Business School, and he graduated from the Université de Montréal with a Bachelor of Commerce degree. Carriere is a member of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
