First Massage Chair to Successfully Incorporate NASA Technology
Publish Date : 7/20/2007 10:01:00 PM Source : Science and Technology News Onlypunjab.com
Premier Health Products has just released the PHP-2022 Zero Gravity Massage Chair. This latest release by Premier Health Products http://www.premiermassagechairs.org/ is the first massage chair to effectively incorporate NASA's zero gravity body position into a massage chair. Other massage chairs have marketed this technology in the past but have failed to meet NASA's specifications.
Zero gravity positioning was originally created by NASA to reduce the strain and stress placed on an astronaut spine during launch. It accomplishes this by placing the body at a slightly curled position, with the spine maintaining a 128º angle with the femur (thigh), and the femur maintain a 133º angle with the tibia (shin). This ergonomic position not only reduces pressure on the spine while the body is in motion but also while at rest. In fact zero gravity positioning is very similar to the position your body takes while weightless in space or for those of us who are earth bound, while suspended in water.
One of the latest trends in the back health industry has been the incorporation of the zero gravity position into lounge chairs. Although these chairs offer a great deal of comfort, Premier Health Products has raised the bar with its latest massage chair release. Not only does the PHP-2022 offer customers the cozy pressure reducing benefits of zero gravity, but now Premier customers can enjoy a great back, calf and foot massage for even greater relaxation and back pain relief.
Other massage chairs have jumped on the Zero Gravity band wagon as well but have failed to accurately emulate NASA's body angle specifications. The most common reason for this failure is that the seat must tilt back as the chair reclines other wise the spine and thigh angle becomes to great. To account for this failure in spine angle, Premier Health Products has incorporated a tilting seat into the PHP-2022 allowing it to maintain NASA's body angle specifications in both upright and reclined positions (http://www.premiermassagechairs.org/massage-chair-php-2022.html). The result is an incredibly relaxing massage experience with improved long term care for backs and spines.
