Ezmo Announces First Free Mobile Player for Music Enthusiasts
Publish Date : 1/28/2008 7:30:00 AM   Source : Technology News Onlypunjab.com

Ezmo, the online music player, today announced a new mobile capability that allows its community members to listen to their entire music collection from their mobile phone. The Ezmo mobile player is developed using new and innovative mobile Flash technology - Flash Lite 3. This technology is currently available on a limited number of phones, like the Nokia N95, but will be widely available on phones released throughout 2008. Ezmos free online music player and social networking service provides the ability for any consumer to easily upload their entire music library to the web. While Nokia users are first to enjoy the capability to listen to their collections on their cell phones, all Ezmo users can invite and share their music libraries with up to ten friends, as well as access their music anywhere with an Internet connection.

The number of people listening to music via a mobile phone is growing. According to M:Metrics, as many as 20 percent of mobile subscribers are listening to music on their mobile devices. And, Ezmo makes it easy. Unlike other music devices, Ezmos mobile player does not require any additional downloads or storage. There is no time-consuming synchronizing or uploading - users can listen to any part of their music collection any time, anywhere.

This is an important move for the online music community as Ezmo is helping to define a new way not only to listen but to share music on the go, said Petter Karal, CEO of Ezmo. Ezmo aims to be device-independent to allow all members unlimited access to their own music collection as well as their friends. The Ezmo mobile player is the first step to fulfill this vision.

Users can access the player by going to the url: m.ezmo.com on their mobile browser. Since the mobile player streams music, the handset should also support 3g or Edge networks to provide the users with a proper listening experience. Alternatively, handsets supporting WiFi could connect to any wireless Internet networks or WiFi hotspots. This makes the mobile phone a viable alternative to MP3 players in locations that offer WiFi - where customers can enjoy free wireless Internet connections.

Ezmos mission is to expand opportunities to discover music via friends and social recommendations, which in turn drives music sales. With the friend streaming feature, users can invite a limited number of close friends and family to view and listen to his or her music collection. Because users can listen to full songs, they are more likely to purchase music they like and which was discovered through their friends recommendations.

Ezmo is clean, simple and free. It provides each user with a personal music storage locker to easily:

  • Store

Store all your music by uploading songs individually or use Ezmo's music uploader tool (Mac and Windows) to import your entire iTunes, Windows Media Player or Winamp library.

  • Listen

Listen to the music via an online music player - log in to your account from any computer and listen to your music using a cool and user-friendly interface.

  • Share

Invite up to ten friends to share your music - friends can then stream your entire music library on any computer.
