Misys Healthcare Systems, a market leader in healthcare IT, today announced that the Misys MyWay™ 2008 solution and Misys EMR® 9.10 software have received pre-market, conditionally certified status from the Certification Commission for Healthcare Information Technology (CCHIT®) and meets the Commission’s ambulatory electronic health record (EHR) criteria for 2007.
“Misys is committed to providing solutions that make it easy for physicians to buy, deploy and use electronic medical records, which ultimately lead to creating connected healthcare communities. The Certification Commission clearly shares in these goals and we respect its dedication to certifying products that support these initiatives,” said R. L. (Vern) Davenport, executive vice president and general manager of Misys Healthcare. “The value of the Misys MyWay solution and Misys EMR software is easily seen through enhanced patient safety and increased operational efficiency. We are proud that our key EMR solutions have met the Commission’s requirements once again.”
The Certification Commission is an independent, nonprofit organization recognized by the federal government as an official certification body for healthcare information technology (HIT) products. Its mission is to accelerate the adoption of robust, interoperable HIT throughout the United States by creating an efficient, credible, sustainable mechanism for the certification of HIT products. CCHIT’s certification compliance criteria and its design for a certification inspection process have been thoroughly researched, taking into account the state of the art of EHRs and available standards, and comparing certification processes in other industries and other countries.
The Misys MyWay solution, available as both a hosted and on-premise product, offers robust capabilities for electronic medical records (EMRs), practice management and claims management. The solution overcomes cost and complexity barriers that often prohibit physician practices from adoption and incorporates a number of innovative features that make the application simple and intuitive from a user’s perspective.
Misys EMR software enables physicians to capture and store patient information through interfaces that support integration with various clinical systems, medical devices, transcription systems and other document repositories. It integrates seamlessly with Misys’ practice management and billing solutions, providing medical practices numerous benefits that improve access to patient data, generate more accurate billing, insurance claims and reimbursements, and enhance record-keeping and reporting capabilities.
