Labels-4-Meds Introduces Customized Medication Labeling System for Consumers
Publish Date : 1/23/2008 3:17:00 AM Source : Health News Onlypunjab.com
Labels-4-Meds, LLC offers new, low cost, internet service and labeling system targeted at individuals who are often confused about which medications to take, when and for what condition. Other individuals often suffer from too many pill bottles in their homes and sometimes mix-up medications that are prescribed for other family members. Some people waste time sorting out or searching for the right medication. Often, when generic medications are substituted for brand names, patients lose track of their intended usage. Difficulty in reading poorly-printed pharmacy labels further complicates the problem.
Now, individuals can easily identify medications and vitamins by customizing their own labels. They can select a shape and color to identify pill bottles by household member and category. For example, a red heart could mean "wife's heart medication." They can also print their own words in large bold black type, to easily identify the medication's usage, such as: "Blood pressure" to exactly identify the purpose for taking the medication.
In addition, they can keep an up-to-date index list of all their medications and vitamins. They could keep a copy at home and another in their wallet or purse. Copies of this index sheet can be used to show healthcare providers or emergency workers on request, or permit spouses or relatives to be better informed of the medications they are currently taking.
People needing this product would typically be anyone taking multiple medications; two or more family members taking medications; adult children of elderly parents; friends or neighbors of individuals needing assistance; and those planning for travel, school or camp.
Labels-4-Meds, LLC is a Westchester-based, New York company dedicated to providing low-priced, time-saving, organizational, safety tools to individuals wishing to more easily identify and manage their own medications or the medications and vitamins of their family, relatives and friends. Robert Presser, its founder, being an engineer and systems analyst for many years, recognized the need for a simple solution to this wide-spread problem was required. In addition, recent headline news about the dangers of drug mix-ups, further emphasized the need for a better identification and management system for medications. |
