We Care Puts MedShare for BlackBerry on the Front Lines
Publish Date : 12/5/2007 6:23:00 AM   Source : United Kingdom News OnlyPunjab.com

At the annual Canadian Home Care Association conference in Victoria this week, MedShare and We Care announced the roll out of the MedShare for BlackBerry solution to nurses and personal support workers.

"I am looking to reinvent the way health care services are delivered in the home," says John Schram, President and CEO of We Care Health Services Inc. which serves Canadian clients from coast to coast from 50 locations. He went on to say "I have an ongoing obligation to look for ways to improve our operational efficiency.

but we as an industry also have an obligation to bring the latest technology to serve the needs of our home care clients. With the aging population, we are only going to have an increase in demand for our services and we must ensure our current staff is more efficient. We can do this with MedShare for BlackBerry."

We have carefully listened to the home care market, run expert panels with We Care and engaged Research in Motion's analysts and researchers to come up with our MedShare for BlackBerry solution
Like other home care provider agencies, We Care's health care professionals have been using paper-based records to document client care and record visits which often end up in a fax machine for communication to head office. By implementing MedShare for BlackBerry, We Care is able to solve many problems presented by the existing paper based approach including improving operational efficiency as data is only keyed once into the system.

"We have carefully listened to the home care market, run expert panels with We Care and engaged Research in Motion's analysts and researchers to come up with our MedShare for BlackBerry solution," said J.Paul Haynes, CEO of MedShare. "We Care represents one of the most demanding rollouts in the Canadian market place as they service clients in many different jurisdictions all with common needs while at the same time have certain unique needs."

MedShare for BlackBerry is a Point of Care solution designed to be used by any home health care worker. It manages daily schedules, allows health care workers to schedule follow up visits on the spot, tracks clinical data and includes innovative features such as GPS location based services. MedShare for Blackberry is powered by MedShare Enterprise Server which centrally houses all of the schedules and electronic health records. We Care will implement MedShare for BlackBerry in December and will have its initial sites fully operational by year end.
