The Automated Trading Championship 2007 represents a contest of automated trading systems (algorithmic/automated trading applications, Expert Advisors, EAs). The contest is aimed at popularization of automated trading and accumulation of practical knowledge in this sphere. Within 3 months Participants' Expert Advisors will compete for being titled the best trading system of the year. After the contest has been finished, the developer of the best three Expert Advisors will share USD80 000 - the Championship's prize fund.

The Automated Trading Championship 2007 is an annual championship that is held for the second time this year. This is not a usual traders' contest. In this Championship, traders do not work themselves: their Expert Advisors do this. Having submitted an Expert Advisor for participation in the Championship, the developer can only follow its successes or failures, but he or she cannot influence its operation in any way. All analytical work and performing of all trades in this Championship is exclusive prerogative of automated trading systems.

258 developers of automated trading systems from all over the world participated in the Championship in 2006. That contest aroused a keen interest of traders. During that championship, one could estimate both the efficiency of each automated trading system in identical conditions and effectiveness of different trading strategies under market conditions.

This contest is distinct from many similar events through real accumulation of practical information in the field of automated trading. This is why this contest was provided with its special website where all trading information for each Participant is published automatically. On this website, analytical articles, text/video interviews with experts in automated trading are published on a daily basis. The site is fully public, everybody can communicate with the Championship Participants, Organizers, and Sponsors. After the Championship is finished, all accumulated data will be available for public at any time. This will allow any developer to conduct independent researches based on the data about trading systems' behavior in real conditions. The Championship provides the unique and many-sided information about development and use of automated trading systems.

Moreover, the Automated Trading Championship 2007 will be interesting for both the developers of automated trading systems and any traders who will find much useful data about technical analysis, money and risk management. "The behavior of automated trading systems must not be interesting for only Expert Advisors' writers. This is, in fact, demonstration of behavior of different trading strategies in real conditions. All Expert Advisors worked according to the algorithms stored in them. For example, if an Expert Advisor had been based on the Bill Williams' fractal system, we could see how that trading strategy behaved without human intervention. Everybody who had already reached 18 years and wanted to participate in the Championship, could submit and application for participation. For that, one had to fill out a registration form and submit his or her automated trading system. Participation in the Championship is absolutely free. As of the moment, registration of Participants has already been closed, but they are still being checked for compliance with the Rules of the Championship. There were totally over 2000 applications for participation submitted. This is almost 3 times more than in the last-year contest. Many developers of automated trading systems noted in their interviews that competition would be severer due to larger amount of Participants.
