A Whole Lot of Shuckin Goin On at the Charleston Lowcountry Oyster Festival

Historic Boone Hall Plantation, with its spectacular corridor of moss-draped live oaks, will provide the setting for the 25th Annual Lowcountry Oyster Festival on Saturday, January 27. Known for its 65,000 pounds of oysters and family-oriented fun, the event, held at 1235 Long Point Road in Mount Pleasant, is consistently ranked in the Top 20 by the Southeastern Tourism Society. Attendees enjoy live music, games, and oyster shucking and eating contests. Gates open at 10:30 am and parking is free. Advance tickets are $10.00 and tickets purchased on event day at the gate are $12.00, with kids 10 and younger admitted free when accompanied with an adult. No pets or coolers are allowed.
