Louisiana-Based Web Content Management Company Bizzuka Helps Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport Web Site Soar to New Heights
Publish Date : 11/29/2007 6:19:00 AM Source : Network Solution News OnlyPunjab.com
Bizzuka, Inc., a provider of component-based Web content management and intranet-based solutions, today announced that one of its clients, Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport, recently received a national award for its Web site, FlyBTR.com, finishing second in a competition of 73 US airports both large and small. The airport was honored at Airports Council International's Annual Excellence in Marketing & Communications Contest held in Kansas City, MO earlier this year.
Bizzuka redesigned the Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport Web site to increase ease of use by patrons and make it more easily manageable by airport staff. With the improvements, passengers are able to schedule flights to anywhere in the United States, compare rates with fares from competing airports, and check flight arrivals, departures and delays.
"This Web site is without a doubt light years ahead of our previous web presence," said Ronnie Pickard, marketing and air service manager, Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport. "Our new site provides visitors with the tools needed to make travel planning an enjoyable and easy task. We now have a travel booking engine comparable to Expedia, Travelocity, or Orbitz."
The new FlyBTR.com also allows airport staff to easily manage content on the site in order to keep information up to date, and integrate seamlessly with third party services. Bizzuka's Web content management solution also provides Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport with the ability to expand the site as needs change and the airport grows.
"Our On-demand content management technology was a perfect fit for Baton Rouge Metro Airport. They needed to update their Web site on regular basis, so ease-of-use was important," said John Munsell, CEO of Bizzuka. "Because they required a flexible platform which could grow with them over time, Bizzuka's component-based system gave them us as much control as they would ever need. The Baton Rouge Metro Airport has really taken on a leadership role in their industry, and we are proud to have played a part in that."
"Bizzuka's technology gave us all the flexibility we needed to develop the site in a way that worked best for us, including integrating applications from outside vendors," said Pickard. "The results have been amazing. In terms of site usage, we've experienced an 80% increase over our former Web site. We've also done well over $70 thousand in ticket sales through the site. It has become a revenue generator." |
