Misys Introduces Misys MyWay for Communities to Facilitate Data Sharing Between Physician Practices and Local Hospital Systems
Publish Date : 2/25/2008 7:12:00 AM Source : Health News Onlypunjab.com
Misys Healthcare Systems, a market leader in healthcare IT, today announced Misys MyWay™ for Communities, an integrated solution intended for hospitals to donate to affiliated and community medical practices. The physician-friendly Misys MyWay for Communities is designed to interoperate with partner hospitals, allowing physicians to share lab orders and results. Misys MyWay software, available as both a hosted and on-premise solution, offers robust capabilities for electronic medical records (EMRs), practice management and claims management.
The Stark Law exception and Anti-Kickback Safe Harbor have made it permissible for hospitals to donate interoperable EMR software to physician offices. Misys MyWay for Communities will enable practices to enjoy two-way connectivity with hospital labs via easy-to-use interfaces. Future versions of Misys MyWay for Communities will expand connectivity with additional departments to facilitate greater levels of data sharing. Beyond the industry-wide objective to increase EMR adoption at a community physician practice level, hospitals will benefit from an investment through: Enhanced efficiencies—Misys MyWay for Communities will reduce the need for paper-based or other physical documents to be generated and transferred among various constituents, streamlining processes and saving time and hassle Stronger physician relationships—The ability to easily and seamlessly share patient data among practices and hospitals will create tighter bonds between hospitals and area physicians More complete records—A significant percentage of patient medical records is comprised of hospital data; by providing a solution to electronically access this information, hospitals are enabling a complete electronic patient record in the physician practice
“Misys is dedicated to creating connected healthcare communities around the country, yet this cannot be achieved until all physician practices have the necessary systems in place. It is critical that EMR software supports community data sharing, which in turn will help physicians provide safe, high-quality patient care,” said R. L. (Vern) Davenport, executive vice president and general manager of Misys Healthcare. “We’ve already shown that the Misys MyWay solution has a strong value proposition for physician practices—it is an easy-to-use, integrated solution that doesn’t require large cost or IT expenditures. Now with Misys MyWay for Communities, hospitals can donate an EMR that they can be sure area physicians will use since many implementation barriers have been eliminated.”
Misys MyWay software was created to work the way physicians do. The solution helps overcome cost and IT complexity barriers and offers many features that make it simple and intuitive for the user, including: Physician-friendly EMR—Misys MyWay software features adaptive learning, intelligent navigation and easy customization. Physicians can easily order lab tests through Misys MyWay for Communities and receive results and notifications directly in return High quality professional services—Misys’ streamlined implementation process gets practices productive quickly. Misys Academy educational tools let physicians learn at their own speed on their own time Flexible, affordable investment— The Misys MyWay solution can be purchased as a low monthly subscription or as a one-time license purchase. On-site servers are unnecessary with the subscription solution, further minimizing IT investment and maintenance CCHIT® Certification—Misys MyWay 2008 is pre-market, conditionally CCHIT Certified®, and meets the Certification Commission’s ambulatory electronic health record (EHR) criteria for 2007. To meet the Stark and Anti-Kickback rule exemptions, EHRs are judged to be interoperable if they are CCHIT Certified no more than 12 months before donation to physicians
