Littler Mendelson Reconfigures Immigration and Migration Practice
Publish Date : 1/26/2008 6:58:00 AM   Source : Legal News Onlypunjab.com

Fragomen, Del Rey, Bernsen & Loewy, LLP, the nations largest immigration law firm and Littler Mendelson, the nations largest employment and labor law firm, announced that five Littler shareholders will be joining Fragomen, along with an agreement to transfer certain of Littlers high volume immigration facilities and personnel to Fragomen, which will open a new office in Phoenix. The agreement is consistent with Fragomens business objectives and supports Littlers goal to focus its immigration practice in alignment with client demands.

Littler remains fully committed to a vibrant and sophisticated immigration/migration practice. In response to client feedback, Littler will more directly integrate immigration and migration service with the complex labor and employment issues the Firms clients face on a daily basis.

Our clients have clearly expressed their need for sophisticated labor and employment counsel and that includes advice encompassing not only basic immigration/migration visa matters, but that addresses more complex immigration issues, said Marko Mrkonich, President and Managing Director of Littler Mendelson. This refocus will enable us to address our client priorities, continue to attract high quality attorneys to our immigration practice, and bridge the gap between the interrelated disciplines of immigration and migration, and labor and employment.

With these goals in mind, Littler and Fragomen have reached an agreement to cooperate in the transition of four Phoenix-based immigration shareholders and one Chicago-based shareholder along with appropriate staff and support operations, to Fragomen, over the next few months. A priority for both firms is to respect client wishes and needs and that will be the focus during the transition period.

Austin T. Fragomen, Jr., who is the Chairman of Fragomen, Del Rey, Bernsen & Loewy, noted, The addition of these five practitioners, who will be joining our firm as partners, is consistent with our goal of expanding the firm's footprint. This further enhances our goal of delivering comprehensive world-wide immigration services to large clients who benefit from the delivery of consolidated global immigration services across multiple regions. The scale and breadth of our practice facilitates the smooth addition of these professionals into our practice and in turn translates into opportunities for large clients to gain even greater efficiencies.
