LifeSphere Home Health Services Chooses NDocŪ Point of Care from Thornberry Ltd
Publish Date : 10/27/2007 6:29:00 AM   Source : Health News Onlypunjab.com

LifeSphere Home Health Services, part of the LifeSphere Community a continuum family of services provider based in Springdale, Ohio, has chosen Thornberry's NDoc point of care software.

LifeSphere Home Health Services has been providing services in the community for over 10 years. In 2005 LifeSphere Home Health Services the agency was recognized as a National Best Practice Agency and was also invited to take part in The National Hospitalization Study.

Commenting on the agency's decision to adopt Thornberry's point of care solution, Home Health Administrator Director Bobbi Graham RN MSN said, "NDoc made intuitive sense to the way clinicians think."

"A number of staff here have had experience with other point of care systems, and those with experience in the field found NDoc very easy to use. And when our Clinical Director first viewed the software, she knew NDoc was what she wanted."

Ms. Graham also commented on Thornberry's level of attention. "They understood our needs and have a personalized interest in our success."

LifeSphere Home Health Services currently has a caseload of about 90 Medicare certified clients, who are cared for by 20 clinicians and a number of home health aides. Many have never used computers before, said Bobbi Graham, one of the reasons they chose touch-screen tablets to implement NDoc. "We think this will help make the transition to electronic point of care easier.

"The transition to electronic health records and the hope for increased administrative efficiencies obviously were part of our decision, but more so was the ability that NDoc will provide to better manage clinical outcomes and to help us identify those areas we need to work on.

"Clinicians will have the benefit of seeing what other clinicians are experiencing with a patient, nurses will be able to review what the PT evaluation shows in real time for example. Everyone will have a more complete picture of each client and be better equipped to help identify client goals."

Following training and implementation, the NDoc clinical/point of care system is slated to go live in December and will be integrated with billing and accounting software from Homecare Accounting Solutions (HAS), a Thornberry technology partner.
