LexisNexis® Statistical DataSets Launches With Display Options and Access to 750 Million Data Points
Publish Date : 1/10/2008 7:39:00 AM   Source : American Local News Onlypunjab.com

LexisNexis, a leading global provider of information and services solutions, today announced the release of a new online service, LexisNexis Statistical DataSets, to enable researchers to build statistical tables from multiple sources in a single interface. This online interactive statistical solution aggregates over 100 licensed and public domain datasets and makes 750 million data points accessible within a single interface.

LexisNexis Statistical DataSets complements the existing LexisNexis Statistical offering and illustrates the companys Total Solutions strategy to deliver comprehensive information solutions to address specific customer needs. Users can easily and quickly scan content, select subjects and criteria and view data in side-by-side tables and charts, offering the opportunity to get exactly what they need faster.

An alliance with Conquest Systems, Inc. provides customers dynamic statistical information through the LexisNexis Statistical platform. As a result, users can control data featured in their reports and become publishers themselves.

Our research has shown there is a clear need for a product that aggregates raw data files and makes them easier to use, said Tim Fusco, vice president for LexisNexis® Academic & Library Solutions. LexisNexis Statistical offers users significantly more data in addition to the flexibility to display result in the desired manner.

This is a very unique and dynamic product that offers the ability to analyze data from multiple sources and deliver it to researchers in the format they need in seconds, said Richard Landry, CEO of Conquest Systems, Inc. Our relationship with LexisNexis will be extremely helpful to us in reaching a broader market and raising awareness on the capability and vast amounts of data that we can provide.

LexisNexis Statistical DataSets joins three existing modules in LexisNexis Statistical: American Statistics Index (ASI), State Reference Index (SRI), and Index to International Statistics (IIS). The new offering can be added to the LexisNexis Statistical service or it can be accessed through a standalone subscription.

The new service will be shown in booth #1316 during the American Library Association mid-winter meeting in Philadelphia, January 11-14, 2008.
