Previously on Lawson System Foundation 8.0, Central DuPage Hospital chose to upgrade and expand its existing Lawson technology platform and business system to take advantage of Lawson’s latest performance management and business intelligence tools. Today, Central DuPage Hospital enjoys time savings resulting from the automation of previously manual processes, such as managing job descriptions, performance evaluations, report distribution and supply chain processes.

Central DuPage Hospital created a cross-departmental team to manage the system rollout, including representatives from finance, human resources, materials management and information technology. This team met weekly with Lawson implementation staff to discuss project tasks and provided regular updates to hospital employees on project goals and deployment progress. In addition, the project team conducted extensive system testing before launching each new application suite to employees. This enabled Central DuPage Hospital to better prepare for and manage the organization-wide implementation.

The unified Lawson system will help the hospital’s financial department simplify vendor management. Specifically, the system can help eliminate the need for hospital staff to enter vendor information multiple times while allowing exceptions for vendors that the hospital may work with on an occasional basis. In addition, the latest Lawson applications will help the hospital HR staff more easily track and report on data regarding employee absences. Finally, the Lawson system helps the hospital improve supply chain efficiencies by automating receiving and delivery processes and supporting advanced mobile supply chain capabilities.
