Internet Marketing Pioneer to Head GeneEd's Online Presence
Publish Date : 1/25/2008 3:34:00 AM Source : Advertising and Business News Onlypunjab.com
GeneEd, Inc., a leading provider of online training in the life sciences, has appointed Terry Carmichael to head up its Internet Marketing efforts. The appointment highlights GeneEd’s emphasis on using the Internet and other electronic information transfer formats to deliver cutting-edge life science training solutions. Mr. Carmichael will oversee Internet marketing and online sales for GeneEd’s more than 240 online training courses, covering the major therapeutic areas of medicine and best practices for clinical research, biomanufacturing, laboratory science, validation, quality control, and medical devices.
Mr. Carmichael brings to GeneEd more than 10 years of Internet marketing and sales experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and direct-to-consumer DNA testing industries. In 1997, Mr. Carmichael founded the GeneTree DNA Testing Center, which was the first online consumer-focused DNA testing company. While with GeneTree, Mr. Carmichael was responsible for placing the first human DNA paternity test kits on the shelves of a national retail drugstore chain. In 2003, Mr. Carmichael founded the Biotech Learning Institute, the first company to offer a catalog of single-user e-learning courses for the life science and clinical research industries. In 2006, the Institute merged with GeneEd.
Mr. Carmichael believes that e-learning is the most effective way to train corporate employees. In his opinion the added benefits are: the convenience of being able to train when and where needed, the simplicity of organized and automated training log management, and very significant cost efficiency. According to Paul M. Eisele, GeneEd’s CEO, “Terry Carmichael has the proven experience, knowledge, and creativity to guarantee that GeneEd will exceed its online marketing and sales objectives. We are always excited to see what comes next from Terry.”
