Imagine being able to send your voice mails directly to your computer via email. In this way you are free to read, listen to, and process those messages at a time that is convenient for you. Too often do you listen to a message just because it is there when your time would be better spent focusing on things like the road while driving. Most of the time, those messages can wait and now you have the capability to allow them to.
When checking your messages on your cell phone, you often have to go through a many step process. You have to call the voicemail which uses up your minutes. Often you then will have to punch in a password; some phones allow you to skip that step on setup but not everyone will take advantage of that offer. Once you’ve finally gotten to your messages, you’ll have to listen to “the voice” in your phone tell you how many messages, recite the number the message came from, and the time and date the message was received. All of this can be tedious and tends to take time; again the time can be better spent on other things. If you send those messages directly to your email and check them when you get behind a computer, you will be able to get to them quickly without all of the tedious steps.
Listening to messages immediately is great if you’re expecting a call for something important like results of a medical test, but for other messages, such as Mom calling to say “hi,” they can wait. Allowing that to happen will free up your time to remain focused on whatever it is you are doing. You will certainly not ignore the messages and in most cases will get to them in a timely manner. A person that would set this up would be someone that is familiar with and uses a computer often; therefore, they will be soon arriving in front of theirs to receive and respond to the messages that have been forwarded from their phone.
Technology is ever evolving. This is another example of how technology is allowing us all to work smarter. Now, instead of having to be distracted by messages on the cell phone, we can simply send them to email to avoid the hassles of getting to them otherwise.
