How it works is you that that you put your golf ball directly under the “arm” of this little unit and you take a swing with a golf club. It works because visually you're recognizing that you have to get your golf club underneath the “arm.” In order to make the proper swing and execute the shot, visually it's right there telling you that need to keep the club coming inside and low.
This little apparatus also causes you to take the club away from the ball with the proper hand motion. Essentially, it forces you to take the club away low and start the golf motion from the shoulders, rather than the hands. Your body will immediately will interpret how you have to come through properly with the Inside Approach. It’s a risk reward scenario – come through low and inside, as you are supposed to do, and the unit will stay intact. If you chop down at the ball, you’ll likely hit the “arm” and it will come apart. Actually, the arm just snaps out of the unit and it’s simple to snap it back into place. The good thing is that the unit is forgiving and won’t cause any bodily harm if you hit it. I like this training aid.
I’ve used this with myself and also with friends who are learning golf as a great way to instantly get people into the proper swing path. I give a five-star rating to the Inside approach and I highly recommend it.
