SmartLabs Announces IRLinc (Infrared-to-INSTEON Translator) Universal Home Theater Remote Can Control a Whole House
Publish Date : 1/10/2008 3:50:00 AM   Source : Entertainment News Onlypunjab.com

As part of its growing line of over 170 INSTEON-compatible products, SmartLabs, Inc. announces the launch of its new IRLinc, a simple plug-in interface that allows remote control of INSTEON-compatible lighting and appliances using almost any universal home theater remote control.

Compatible with dozens of codes in most universal remotes, IRLinc receives IR commands from a universal home theater remote through a wide-angle sensor that can be placed on top of the TV or DVR, or even a shelf. The brains of the system reside in a plug-in module, which is hidden away behind the homeowners gear and transmits the INSTEON signal onto the electrical wires of the home.

Setup takes only minutes and a few button presses to create multiple lighting commands and scenes, all accessible through an existing universal remote control. IRLinc can control over 400 INSTEON-compatible devices.

If you're one of those people who wants one remote for everything, IRLinc is a perfect fit, said Laurie Maroni, SmartLabs VP, Marketing. The IRLinc lets you set up a Movie scene that dims your sconces and turns off your kitchen light and lets you create an Intermission button that brightens the sconces and turns on the kitchen light for mid-movie snacking. Dealer / installers are especially excited about this product.

Pre-orders for the INSTEON IR Receiver are being accepted at Smarthome.com starting at $99.99.
