The VisualCalc Housing Dashboard transforms detailed, complex housing data into interactive, easy-to-interpret graphs and charts -- called indicators -- that highlight important U.S. housing trends, including home prices, home price indexes, homeowner and rental vacancy rates, home sales, and interest rates. Most of these indicators can display data at the national, regional, or state level. These indicators help users spot trends that otherwise might go undetected or unnoticed. For example, some of these indicators show that:
- The 18-month U.S. home price index actually increased in February 2008, the first monthly increase since June 2007.
- Despite market softness, average U.S. home sales prices still reached an all-time high in 2007, at $312,300.
- The slow-down in U.S. home sales is dramatic -- 775,000 homes were sold in 2007, down from 1,050,000 in 2006 and 1,282,000 in 2005.

- Average annual home price changes since 1963.
- Quarterly price index since 1965.
- Home sales and homes on the market for each year since 1973.
- Annual interest rates since 1971 for a variety of loan types.

With a simple point-and-click, users can filter and drill-down into each of these indicators to customize their view of the data. For example, users may want to focus on a particular region or state, or compare two areas against one another.
