Hotel Outsource Management International, Inc. (“HOMI”) (OTCBB:HOUM) has named Daniel Cohen as Senior Sales & Marketing Consultant.
Daniel Cohen, a Graduate of Lausanne Hotel Management School in Switzerland, is widely considered to be a pioneer in the field of computerizing hotels and restaurants. He founded several successful businesses, including AAS (Advanced Accounting Systems) and subsequently D.A.C. Systemes, eventually sold at a profit to Micros Systems, Inc., where he served as a director from 1991 to 2000.
Mr. Cohen served as president & CEO of Bartech Systems International, Inc. (“Bartech”) between 1997 and 2005, and increased Bartech’s global presence, while introducing the hotel sector to what was, at the time, a new product. Since then, he has been working in venture capital and financial management for commercial land development projects in the United States. Mr. Cohen is a director of several companies.
Mr. Jacob Ronnel, HOMI’s President and CEO, confirmed his delight at having Daniel Cohen join the HOMI team. According to Mr. Ronnel, "Daniel's familiarity with HOMI’s business and culture, make him an ideal fit for the role of HOMI’s Senior Sales & Marketing Consultant. Daniel will dedicate substantial amounts of time to the marketing and promoting of HOMI’s new range of computerized minibars in Europe and I'm sure we will benefit from his extensive background and experience."
Daniel Cohen matched this enthusiasm, commenting, “This is a very exciting new project for me. My experience tells me that HOMI’s new range of computerized minibars should be really attractive to the hotel sector - not only for luxury and upscale hotels, but also for the mid-range 3 and 4 star hotels, which have not previously had a satisfactory minibar solution.”
About HOMI
HOMI was incorporated under the laws of Delaware in 2000. HOMI and its subsidiaries are engaged in the distribution, marketing and operation of computerized minibars in major branded hotel chains located in the United States, Europe, Australia, Israel and South Africa, and in the development and manufacture of a new range of computerized minibars.
HOMI, through its subsidiaries, manages and operates approximately 7,800 computerized minibars at 19 hotels and offers a selection of business models, including rental and full outsourcing. In the full outsourcing model, HOMI's revenues are primarily derived from the operation of new or already installed minibars, through its outsource operation program. HOMI now plans to offer rental services as well, where it will lease its proprietary computerized minibars to hotels, either with, or without, outsource operations services.
HOMI has recently completed the development of its new, proprietary computerized minibar: the "HOMI® 336", which is the first such unit to be developed and manufactured by the company. HOMI has applied for patent protection on various features of the new unit and has just started pilot installations
