eVerge Group Partners with City of Plano to Automate Recruiting and Hiring Processes
Publish Date : 1/7/2008 5:51:00 AM   Source : Science and Technology News Onlypunjab.com

Plano-based software integrator eVerge Group recently completed a project at The City of Plano that enables The City to automate their recruiting and job application processes using the Internet. The City of Plano is now leveraging the full Candidate Gateway and Talent Acquisition capabilities offered within their suite of Oracle-PeopleSoft HR applications to improve and streamline both their internal processes and their external interfaces to potential new hires.

Prior to the implementation, most of the job posting and application processes were manual and paper-based. Job ads were updated and posted once per week and job applicants were required to come to City Hall to fill out an application. With the new system, hiring managers can post job ads/descriptions directly to The City’s website, and applicants can complete and submit applications online. The new system also enables applicants to complete a single application and submit it for multiple job openings, whereas the previous system required a separate application to be completed for each job submission.

According to The City of Plano HR Director, LaShon Ross, “Improved efficiency was almost immediately recognized within our department, and the transition from paper to an electronic recruitment/hiring process was relatively seamless. We have every reason to look forward to on-going improvements and enhanced service to our customers.” The City is now experiencing shorter hiring cycles and substantially reduced levels of administrative work, while applicants are enjoying the convenience of online job search and application capabilities.

Ross added, “We are very pleased with the successful launch of our on-line recruiting application through PeopleSoft. The implementation process was smooth, thanks to the support and professional assistance received from eVerge as well as members of our own HR and Technology Services staff.” eVerge Group president, Esteban Neely applauded The City of Plano’s vision and commitment to improvement, saying “The City of Plano is a visionary organization willing to adapt, change and take the challenge necessary to be a great place to live and work.” Neely also recognized the long-standing relationship between eVerge Group and The City, adding “eVerge has a long track record with the City and it’s very exciting to see our customers realizing the benefits of their investments in technology. We are proud and honored to be a strategic partner with the City of Plano.”
