“We were looking for a way to further streamline the management of employee information across the organization,” said Robert Gordon, director of information systems at Halifax Regional Medical Center. “At the same time, we wanted to enhance the physical security of our facility for our patients and staff.”
The Payrollmation system simplifies the process of collecting and calculating employee time and attendance information across the healthcare enterprise. It gives managers real-time access to the workforce data they need to proactively control labor costs and applies complex pay policies consistently throughout the organization. Employees can use the system to review their timecard information and to verify its accuracy.
The SecurALL system tracks and regulates right of entry throughout a healthcare facility, in real-time, using programmable badge readers. With the system, hospitals can assign employee schedules at the individual, unit or facility level, contributing to a safer, more controlled environment for both patients and staff. It can also be used to conduct security reviews for internal audits or to track access to areas that house sensitive information, such as the medical records department. The SecurALL system also provides power-over-Ethernet capabilities, eliminating the need to run dedicated electrical power lines for employee badge readers.

The two new systems will integrate with API’s Navigator payroll/HR system, already in place at Halifax Regional. The Navigator system helps organizations efficiently manage and verify employment applications, payroll, benefits and other personnel data. Together, the systems will enhance Halifax Regional’s reporting capabilities and minimize the need for manual processes.
